Today's News

At preschool today, our local fire fighters came and did a small presentation for the kids and allowed them to climb up in the fire truck. They put on the full suit, which was neat to see, but once the oxygen mask went on, we had some tears, especially from the younger kids. Our director provided fire hats for all the kids as well. I snapped a few photos of Quinn with my phone (I was so mad at myself when I got to work and realized I had left my camera at home!), but he refused to actually sit in the firetruck. Maybe next year...

Cutie Patootie

He wore his birthday shirt to school today because we brought in Blues Clues cookies to share with his friends in celebration of turning 2!

*Don't kid yourself as I did and think cookies like these are easy to make. I spent way too many hours trying to decorate these cookies and get all the icing consistencies correct so that I had an outline and a middle and it all flowed together nicely. Never. Again. Next time, one icing color. No outline. Bam. Done.*

After school Aidan asked if we could take Wesley on a walk. He hardly ever requests to just walk outside with me anymore. And it was so pretty outside today.

So of course I said yes.

Then we had the first soccer game of the season this evening.

They got new uniforms this year. I like them.

And we have actual referees for the first time. No more volunteer refs. Josh is excited about that! He had to ref a good number of times last season and didn't particularly enjoy it.

They might have gotten creamed at this particular game, but we still don't keep score, so it doesn't really matter, right? Aidan did score a goal though. Go, Aidan!! He also did a good job of getting in the goal and preventing the other team from scoring a couple of times.

The soccer uniforms look older. Quinn looks cute in his fireman hat!
