Bedtime Stories

Quinn LOVES books. He is constantly bringing a book to me saying, "Mo boo, mo boo." (more book) Once he's picked up, he squirms around in my lap until he's perfectly positioned with his head leaning against my chest and has the hugest grin on his face. It doesn't matter what book it is, he just wants you to read to him.

Tonight, Josh was getting ready to read Quinn his bedtime story when he got a phone call. Aidan picked up the book and climbed into the chair with Quinn and started reading to him. It was the sweetest thing to see.
Aidan amazes me. He's had no reading instruction. Sure, he's been taught his letters at preschool, but they haven't really taught the kids how to put the letters together to make words. Aidan picked it up all on his own.
And now at 5, he's reading to his little brother. I love it!

It's a special sight isn't it? And I, too, am in awe of how they become readers - a wonderful, wonderful gift.
