Fireworks

Last night we were invited over to our friends' house to watch a 4th of July firework show put on by one of their relatives. This is the 2nd year we've been invited over for this, and we always have a great time. We headed over there around 7, and while there was still daylight, the kids played in the backyard and a few people fished in the pond behind their house. Aidan finally figured out that he doesn't have a hook on his fishing pole, and kept insisting that we put one on for him. However, he will not receive a hook until his casts are consistently straight. He does pretty good, but occasionally one will go straight up in the air. The last thing I want is for him to hook the back of his head or someone else. Ouch!

Everyone brought desserts to share, so there was quite a yummy selection to choose from. The kids each got to do a sparkler, which Aidan loved. Then the hour long fireworks show began. It did not disappoint, and it was great to see such a fantastic show without fighting crowds! Aidan loves fireworks and had such fun watching them with his friends. Quinn seemed to enjoy watching them as well, at the beginning. He was pretty tired by this point, so he was being a bit difficult. I had attempted to lay him down in his pack n play prior to the firework show, but he freaked out quite a bit. He's pretty particular about sleeping in his own bed at his own house. Despite this, it was a great time for all! Thank you Lance and Jennifer for having us over!
