Zoo

Aidan, Quinn, and I were invited by some good friends of ours to go to the zoo today. It was a gorgeous day with perfect zoo going weather. Here's a sampling of the pictures I took and the activities we did today.

We started out watching the African Penguins swim around a bit.

We ate lunch next to the lions.

Quinn enjoyed spending time outdoors and watching one or two animals that he could actually see through glass bottom enclosures on the Wilds of Africa exhibits.

Ben and Aidan watching the giraffes.

Aidan so badly wanted to touch a giraffe, and they can close enough for him to do so a few times. However, as they would get close to his hand, he would pull away, and then get upset about not touching it. After a few times of this, we had to leave and let the next group come in. Aidan wasn't too happy, but I told him we would try again next time. It was really cool to be that close to a giraffe though.

 Baby Joel.

One of the neatest things we saw (in my opinion, anyway) was the lion show. They brought the two male lions in and showed us how they train them. This pose here was the last one they showed us to to demonstrate how big these lions are, and they're not even full grown yet. They're only 2 years old.

Ben and Aidan having fun on kangaroo statues after leaving the petting zoo.

Aidan, Ben, and Addie climbing rocks. We spent a lot of time climbing rocks. Five kids forces adults to slow down and just enjoy whatever you can get to without worrying about what you miss.

We had a blast. Thank you, Bea, for inviting us!
